White Tigerby ~brooksart

Digital Art / Drawings / Animals

I produced White Tiger as an experiment on selling prints on Ebay, I haven't got round to listing the prints just yet with Christmas & New Year catching up on me. It's done using photo reference of normal tigers and of course the background setting is completely fictional. I must say I don't condole the breeding of White Tigers, but they are beautiful creatures.

I recently went to a sanctuary that educates the public about tigers, and they said they are no wild white tigers in existance, because one they have been cross bred for so long, that that their are no true siberians, and two the gene is so rare it only occurs in one of every ten thousand....very sad, because they are one of my favorite living creatures. On another note, this is an incredibley well done drawing, I would have sworn it was a photo.

Thanks for the comments, the White Tigers are a product of inbreeding as far as I remember. Father breeding with daughter. One in ten turns out healthy the rest have severe health problems and brain damage. Most often it's zoo's that breed them because they know White Tigers will bring in the crowds. Sad really.
